The meaning of this evening together is, next to having a lot of fun together, getting to know each other a little better. The party will start at 19:30 at Populierweg 31 in Maastricht. DWARS Maastricht breakaway in progress!To bring some more structure in the activities of DWARS Maastricht, a few months ago we decided to institute a "breakaway-group". All members that want to take part actively in the organisation of actions and meetings, writing of articles and weblogs for the website or who want to take part in the debates for which DWARS Maastricht is invited, come together in this group during its monthly meetings. At the last breakaway-meeting we spoke about the strengths and weaknesses of our movement and we took a first step in setting a few goals for the coming year. These goals will be further defined in a scheme at the coming meeting. Furthermore we will talk about the political topicalities, amongst which the course of events around DWARS and the schoolpupils-riots of the last few weeks is the most important topic. We will decide who will represent DWARS Maastricht at the national meeting of local DWARS branches January the 12th. Do you want to be involved in the planning of our activities for the coming year? Furthermore, DWARS Maastricht was invited together with UMPM/SISUM by Maastrichtmoetjehoren.nl, a local podcast website, to amplify on the ideas behind organising this movienight and behind the movie itself. This interview (in Dutch) can also be found on our website. Anyway, as far as we're concerned we reackon that this initiative surely is worth doing again, after the success of this first time. At the next breakaway-meeting we will plan the next movienights. 4. New contents website

Coal plants are a desaster for the climate. They emit just as much green house gases as the entire Dutch fleet of cars. Right at the moment in which the Netherlands should ensure more green energy: more windmills, more solar panels. That's way you have to say: Quit the Coal! Make your voice heard in The Hague. Fill in the special online protestflyer right now and help preventing the erecting of five new coal plants. GroenLinks will collect all the signatures and will give these to the Dutch government. 6. Call: torchlight procession on the International Day for Human Rights
The torchlight procession will start at 17:00 at the train station. Final destination is the wall painting at the Kakeberg, close to the Economics faculty. This is followed at 18:00 by a solidarity meal at the ‘Maastricht School of Governance’ (Maastricht University, Kapoenstraat 2). Also, there will be the staging of ‘Requiem für einen polnischen Jungen’ by the choir Stem des Volks at 20:00 in the City Hall at the Markt. Naturally, the theme of the torchlight procession will be for a great part the absence of Abdullah Al-Mansouri who is still being held captive in Iran. Cancellation politics night eLSU and PYO'sSome time ago the student union eLSU had planned a politics night together with amongst others DWARS Maastricht to bring the students again into contacts with all Political Youth Organistions (PYO's). Unfortunately it did not come to success. As time passed by eLSU did not succeed to get into contact with the other PYO's except for DWARS and the Young Democrats. Because the involved people from eLSU faced a few setbacks in their private life and DWARS Maastricht and the Young Democrats did not succeed sufficiently in stepping in, we decided to cancel the politics night. There just wasn't enough time anymore to organise it and to make sufficient promotion to bring it to a success. Very unfortunate, because at least at DWARS we received various reactions from people that were interested. We hope that on a later point in time we can resume the thread again together with eLSU. We want to call for all people who would find it interesting to organise a politics night together with all PYO's of Maastricht and environs. We people from DWARS like to throw a party once in a while. Saint Nicholas might have left our country after December 5th,
on the 7th DWARS Maastricht will organise an afterparty!
On November 8th DWARS Maastricht organised together with UMPM/SISUM and the Landbouwbelang a movienight at the Landbouwbelang. It was a great succes.

DWARS Maastricht will call everyone to take part in the torchlight procession that will be organised by Amnesty International Maastricht as every year on
December 10th: the International Day for Human Rights.
DWARS Maastricht is the younger little brother of Groenlinks, the green left party in The Netherlands. We observe
Groenlinks and the politics of Maastricht and surroundings in an independent and critical way. Our aim is to contribute
to protecting that which is vulnerable in society. but most of all we cherish the aim of having fun together. Politics
will result from that automatically!
